Data type
Published on 22 January 2025
The Agence de la biomédecine collects data essential to its missions, derived from the activities of the centers and establishments within its areas of competence. Two types of data are collected: individual data (or personal data) and aggregate data. Find out more in this article.
Individual data
The individual data collected by the agency concerns patients directly. It includes personal information enabling them to be identified (surname, first name, address, etc.) and health data required for their care. This information includes biological, medical and antecedent data, which are essential for tracing medical paths and guaranteeing appropriate expertise.
Aggregated data
Aggregated data are derived from a summary of the activities of centers and establishments involved in the Agency's missions, such as assisted reproduction centers (AMP), preimplantation diagnosis centers (DPI), multidisciplinary prenatal diagnosis centers (CPDPN), as well as medical genetics laboratories and certain hospital services. They provide an overview of activity volumes and changes in practices, enabling an informed global analysis.
