Agence de la biomédecine launches new campaign to encourage gamete donation #FaitesDesParents

Published on 13 October 2023

Between October 11 and the beginning of January 2024, the Agence de la biomédecine will be running a new campaign aimed at the general public, with the aim of rapidly and massively recruiting new gamete donors with diversified profiles to meet the growing demand for gamete donation AMP. This campaign will also be run in close collaboration with healthcare professionals. Some people have been waiting months or even years for a donation before they can hope to become a parent, so it's essential to mobilize more donors to give everyone the chance to become a parent. A vast communication campaign will be rolled out across France (including the French overseas departments and territories): #FaitesDesParents!

This 2-part campaign targets the two audiences most inclined to donate:

  • parents under 44 who have just had a child, who studies show are the most likely to donate,
  • and young people aged 18 to 24 without children. Towns with a gamete donation center will be particularly targeted, with local communication campaigns designed to appeal to local audiences.

The #FaitesDesParents campaign takes a poetic and humorous approach to the challenges of parenthood. It's a way of bringing together young parents who are happy, but sometimes a little overwhelmed... and future parents who dream of experiencing the ups and downs of family life! Donating gametes doesn't mean making a child. It's about making parents. Donate your gametes. You'll make people happy (campaign video available here).

Besides, when you're a student, you don't necessarily want to have children - at least, not right away. On the other hand, there's nothing to stop us offering others the chance to be parents! Don't want to have children? #FaitesDesParents (3 campaign videos available here and here).
