South Alliance of Transplant

Since 2012, the Agence de la biomédecine has maintained very close relations with the countries of Southern Europe. Following the example of Eurotransplant, the Agency has created the South Alliance for Transplant with Italy (CNT) and Spain (ONT). The aim of this alliance is to act as an opinion leader and jointly promote a common vision of organ and tissue transplantation and procurement to European authorities. It also aims to establish international cooperation between signatory countries.

Portugal and Greece have since joined the South Alliance for Transplant. Switzerland and the Czech Republic are two observer members.

The alliance meets as often as necessary to discuss European issues in the field of organ, tissue and cell transplantation. The presidency of the alliance rotates between the signatory countries.
