Press kit for the 2021 national day of reflection on organ donation and transplantation

On the occasion of the 21st national day of reflection on organ and tissue donation, and in recognition of donors, the Agence de la biomédecine is rolling out a national campaign to raise awareness of the fact that we are all potential organ and tissue donors.

Its message, "A link that unites us all", highlights the commitment and collaboration of all those involved in the donation-to-transplant chain, who work to bring it to life day after day, in all circumstances: healthcare professionals, administrative staff, associations in the field and, of course, donors and their families.

The National Day of Reflection on Organ Donation and Transplantation was established in 2000. The revision of the French Bioethics Act in 2011 led to the inclusion of the notion of "donor recognition", to pay tribute to the generosity of living and deceased donors, as well as to their loved ones. This day is supported by the Agence de la biomédecine, in collaboration with associations and hospitals that are carrying out actions, particularly in the regions.
