Agence de la biomédecine is participating in the EU4Health program's EUROKEP project, which aims to set up a kidney cross-donation program throughout the European Union. The aim is to enable wider access to donor-recipient matching data, through a (European) operational, financial and governance framework guaranteeing the long-term viability of the project.

EURO-KEP brings together policy-makers, clinicians and experts to develop a European transplant program.

The project aims to :

  • Develop a Europe-wide kidney cross-donation program,
  • Set up an IT platform for matching donor-recipient pairs,
  • Draw up recommendations covering ethical, legal, clinical and logistical aspects for the efficient implementation of international exchanges,
  • Develop an operational, financial and governance plan to ensure the long-term viability of the program.

The Agence de la biomédecine is making its medical and legal experts available to this project in order to draw up recommendations to overcome potential legal and RGPD obstacles to setting up this program in Europe.
