Rencontres de la biomédecine 2023

Published on 10 October 2023

The first "Rencontres de la biomédecine" will replace the biannual "Journées de l'Agence de la biomédecine" event. This change illustrates the Agency's new ambition: an event for science rather than for the institution, and an openness to scientific developments linked to societal issues.

A crucial step in the development of biomedical expertise

By mobilizing a range of multi-disciplinary expertise, these Rencontres reaffirm Agence de la biomédecine's role as a catalyst for initiatives and influential players in the biomedicine field. This unique initiative is part of the Agence's ongoing commitment to advancing medicine and innovating to improve patient care.

Towards an ever stronger collaborative approach

The event aims to create a constructive, high value-added dialogue by bringing together experts, healthcare professionals, researchers, associations, institutions and political decision-makers. It also reaffirms the Agency's central role in its areas of expertise, and in particular in coordinating and mobilizing the players involved in donation, transplantation, genetics and MPA.

Themes at the heart of current events

Hot topics such as cell therapy, xenotransplantation, prenatal diagnostics and MPA for single women will be at the heart of the discussions. Discussions will focus on five main themes:

  • Science & ethics
  • Care pathways
  • Medical practices
  • Health & society
  • Research & innovation

"I'm delighted to inaugurate the Rencontres. This gathering marks a new stage in our mission, stimulating qualified dialogue to shape the future of biomedicine. I look forward to exchanging ideas with you on October 12 and 13", Marine JEANTET, General Manager.

"In line with the new strategic orientations defined by the Agency, these Meetings embody our desire to collaborate closely with all stakeholders in the biomedical field. They serve as a springboard for concerted action aimed at enriching medical practices and anticipating future patient needs", Pr Michel TSIMARATOS, Deputy Director General in charge of Medical and Scientific Strategies.

In summaryLes Rencontres de la biomédecine offers a unique opportunity to share expertise, promote best practices and foster informed dialogue on contemporary ethical, medical and scientific issues. The Agence de la biomédecine is positioning itself as a catalyst for initiatives, reinforcing its mission of coordinating and mobilizing biomedicine players. These two days promise to be an incubator of reflection (and action) for players and users of the healthcare system, always with a view to providing more appropriate support for patients' current and future needs.
