Marc Destenay appointed Deputy Director General for Resources at Agence de la biomédecine

Marc Destenay, 52, has been appointed deputy director general in charge of resources at the Agence de la biomédecine as of this Tuesday, December 1, 2020. He succeeds Hugo Gilardi, who has held the position since December 2018. At Agence de la biomédecine, Marc Destenay will be in charge of the information systems department, the administrative and financial department, the legal department, the human resources department and internal communications.
A graduate of the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Santé Publique (EHESP), where he was trained as a health and social action inspector, Marc Destenay then completed a post-graduate course for administrators at ENA.
Since 2017, and prior to joining the Agence de la biomédecine, Marc Destenay held the position of Deputy Director for Social Professions, Employment and Territories in the General Directorate for Social Cohesion at the Ministry of Solidarity and Health. In this position, he worked on upgrading social work professions as part of the national strategy to prevent and combat poverty. In recent months, he has been particularly involved in the implementation of the Ségur healthcare agreements, as well as the "Grand âge et autonomie" ("Old age and autonomy") bill. After starting his career as an inspector, then senior inspector for health and social action at the Direction Départementale des Affaires Sanitaires et Sociales in Val d'Oise and then Hauts de Seine, between 2006 and 2013 his career path took him to various management positions within the Sous-direction de la Modernisation des services, the Secrétariat général des ministères sociaux and then the Sous-direction de la gestion du personnel at the Ministère des solidarités et de la santé. In 2013, he became Head of the Office of Departmental Child Welfare Facilities at the Paris Department.
